چکیده

In image reconstruction there are techniques that use analytical formulae for the Radon transform to recover an image from a continuum of data. In practice, however, one has only discrete data available. Thus one often resorts to sampling and interpolation methods. This article presents one approach to the inversion of the Radon transform that uses a discrete set of samples which need not be completely regular. This approach is based on a sampling theorem that employs fundamental solutions of an elliptic differential operator D .

Fast curve estimation using preconditioned generalized Radon transform

A new algorithm for fast curve parameter estimation based on the generalized Radon transform is proposed. The algorithm works on binary images, obtained, e.g., by edge filtering or deconvolution. The fundamental idea of the suggested algorithm is the use of a precondition map to reduce the computational cost of the generalized Radon transform. The precondition map is composed of irregular regio...

The Generalised Radon Transform: Sampling and Memory Considerations

The generalised Radon transform is a well-known tool for detecting parameterised shapes in an image. Applying the Radon transform to an image results in a parameter response function (PRF). Curves in the image become peaks in the PRF. The location of a peak corresponds to the parameters of a shape, and the amplitude to the amount of evidence for that shape. In this paper we discuss two importan...

The generalized Radon transform: Sampling, accuracy and memory considerations

The generalized Radon (or Hough) transform is a well-known tool for detecting parameterized shapes in an image. The Radon transform is a mapping between the image space and a parameter space. The coordinates of a point in the latter correspond to the parameters of a shape in the image. The amplitude at that point corresponds to the amount of evidence for that shape. In this paper we discuss thr...

Wavelet Sampling and Localization Schemes for the Radon Transform in Two Dimensions

Two theorems are presented for wavelet decompositions of the two-dimensional Radon transform. The first theorem establishes an upper error bound in L-norm between the Radon transform and its wavelet approximation whose coefficients at different scales are estimated from Radon data acquired at corresponding sampling rates. The second theorem gives an estimate of the accuracy of a local image rec...

Detection of Blood Vessels in Color Fundus Images using a Local Radon Transform

Introduction: This paper addresses a method for automatic detection of blood vessels in color fundus images which utilizes two main tools: image partitioning and local Radon transform. Material and Methods: The input images are firstly divided into overlapping windows and then the Radon transform is applied to each. The maximum of the Radon transform in each window corresponds to the probable a...
